Dragon Ball Manga Vol.40 Chapter 480 : The Fusion is Completed at Last!!
Summary:
Yamcha tells the others that the youths are going to test Fusion, so they all come to watch. Yamcha says they'll try it outside because if they combine, they could have such incredible ki that they'd blow up the inner sanctum. Kuririn is convinced that they will probably become very strong warriors, but wonders what they would look like. Kame-Sen'nin thinks they already look similar, so they probably won't change much. But then again, they could look like a completely different "macho man". Chi-Chi wonders what their names will be, either "Gotenks" or "Trunten". Bulma says that it doesn't matter since they will only be together for thirty minutes.
Piccolo orders the boys to compare their ki and begin. "Fuse...sion... Ha!!!" When the two begin to connect, there is a big flash. They all look up to see a large, chubby child standing in front of them. Everyone is shocked. Bulma hopes that they can return to normal, while Kuririn doubts that he is a warrior stronger than the Majin Boo that Goku mentioned. Yamcha understands: an eye for an eye, fat for fat! The child starts to run, but after five seconds stops and breathes heavily. Kame-Sen'nin thinks it was a failure and Piccolo realizes why, scolding the kid that Trunks has fingers instead of fists. Piccolo tells him to turn around, but he doesn't know how. So they wait thirty minutes. They all talk to him and find out his name is Gotenks.
After thirty minutes, Gotenks splits back into Trunks and Goten. They all try to talk to them, but Piccolo says they'll have to talk later. Now they have to reconnect. "Fuse...sion... Ha!!!" (Trunks' finger is slightly off at the "ha" part.) Another flash and... tada! This time a very fragile child appears and everyone realizes that it was another failure. Piccolo chides them that the finger is gone and thinks they'll be waiting another thirty minutes while Gotenks stands there wheezing like a delayer. Once again, "Fu...sion... Ha!!!" Kuririn notes that it seems like the author has taken it in stride so far, with the Fusion pose panels being almost "copies" of each other. Toriyama appears behind him and says that he hopes the editor-in-chief will pay him in full for this page.
After a flash, a decent sized, normal looking warrior appears. Everyone is abducted from his ki except the ladies. Piccolo thinks this is great and in another thirty minutes they can try as Super Saiyans. “Hehehe… You're not underestimating me? I'm good enough to beat Majin Boo as I am now." Piccolo says he's stupid, he doesn't know anything about Boo and he definitely can't win like he is now. "Don't play with me. Okay, I'll show you right now. Majin Boo's corpse, that is." Gotenks flies away, ignoring Piccolo's protests. Piccolo thinks he's an idiot and will be killed. But Kuririn asks if he can't really win, as Yamcha agrees that he was sure he was very sure. But Gotenks comes back soon all beat up and everyone falls. Piccolo says they'll fight Boo tomorrow, but for now they need more training. Meanwhile, Old Kaiōshin continues his funky dance around Gohan, who looks miserable.
